The Nirekha Peak (6159 m) listed as the new β€˜Grade A’ trekking peaks is located in the same chain as the Lobuche Summits, a few hundred meters away from the famous Cho La Pass. Climbing the Nirekha Peak is an exciting experience that requires both strengh and technique. It is located in the Khumbu Region just east of the Cho La Pass. Upon completion of the trip, you will be trekking through magnificent landscapes, experience the Sherpa Culture and see the some of the best views of the Himalayas from some of the best vantage points. The summit to the peak was began recently. You can catch the views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse and many more from the peak. As this trek is considered comparatively difficult, only experienced climbers having technical mountaineering skills should attempt this. The first ascent was made on April 2003.

Day:1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)

You will be received by our representative at the Tribhuvan International Airport and dropped to your hotel on a private car. After some refreshment, if time allows depending on your arrival time in Nepal, you will be taken to the Kathmandu Darbar Square. In the evening a welcome dinner will be hosted in a restaurant in Thamel where you can interact with each other. Thamel is a touristic hub Nepal.

Day:2

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840 m) and Trek to Phakding (2610 m)

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the domestic airport of Kathmandu early in the morning. At the airport you will catch a flight to Lukla (2840m). Upon your arrival in Lukla, the trek will begin for Phakding. From Lukla we descend on a wide trail northwest in the Dudh-Koshi Valley. We can see the mesmerizing valley covered with pine and rhododendron forest. You might see yaks as you walk on the banks of the Dudh-Koshi River. The trekking is easy and we follow the river's course. Pass by the mani walls before we reach Phakding on the bank of Dudh Koshi River. In Phakding, you will get the first taste of Himalayan life. Rest and relax in Phakding. Lunch and dinner in Phakding. Overnight Stay at a lodge in Phakding.

Day:3

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Start the trek at 8 am after breakfast. The trail will lead us through the pine and rhododendron forest along the Dudh Koshi River across many suspension bridges, one of which is the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. During the trek, from Bengkar we can see the views of Thamserku on the front right. We will register and buy the Sagarmatha National Park entry permit at the check post located at Monjo and continue the trek to Jorsalle. After Hillary Bridge, the uphill trek to Namche starts. This is quite difficult trek and will test your physical fitness. Then the trail will meet the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. Namche is considered as the gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading center of the Khumbu Region. Upon arrival at Namche check in a lodge. Enjoy the scenic Namche Bazar and splendid view of mountains.

Day:4

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar; Hike to Hotel Everest View (3950m)

Today is the day for acclimatization. Go for a hiking to Hotel Everest View (3950m) which is about 2.5 hours uphill treks. This point offers magnificient views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Thamserku, Kusum Khanguru, Khumbila peak, Kongde, Kangtega, Peak 41, Tobuche peak, Cholatse peak, etc. Back to Namche Bazaar and explore the town.

Day:5

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4038 m)

From Namche, we will continue the main trail to Everest Base Camp up to Sanasa. The trail will offer you views of spectacular peaks of Ama Dablam, Nupte, Everest, Taboche and many more. Upon arrival at Sanasa, we leave the main trail to Tengboche and choose an uphill trail towards Gokyo. From Sanasa the trail remains less crowded. The trail descends down from Mong La through the pine forest towards Dudhkoshi River at Phortse Tenga. Then, the trail heads northwest following the Dudhkoshi River Valley. You will enjoy your walk through the rhododendron forest. You will eventually reach Dole sitting above the treeline. The settelment in Dole is consists of a cluster of trekking lodges rather than an actual village..

Day:6

Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4470m)

You will be enjoying the views of splendid snowcapped mountains like Everest, Cho Oyu and Lhotse while walking on the comparatively today’s easier trail. As you walk, you pass through the villages that are decorated with prayer flags and monasteries and ultimately reach your destination Machhermo.

Day:7

Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,750 m)

The Gokyo Valley offers you the splendid views of the Ngozumpa Glacier and some of the best turquoise lakes in the Khumbu Region. When you trek through this valley, you will be thrilled to see the mountains Cho-Oyu, Everest, Lhotse Nuptse and Makalu. The Ngozumpa is the largest glacier in Nepal and in the world.

Day:8

Acclimatization Day; Hike to Gokyo Ri (5357 m)

Today is another day for acclimatization. You will be taken for a hike up to the Gokyo Ri and the remianing three lakes around. From the top of the Gokyo Ri you can enjoy the views of the Himalayas. Spend some time at the top for acclimatazation and return back to Gokyo.

Day:9

Trek from Gokyo to Dragnag (4700 m)

Today you will be walking through glacial moraine and pasturelands to reach Dragnag. Dragnag is also reffered as the Cho La Pass Base Camp. As previous days you will be mesmerized to see the giant Himalayan Mountains.

Day:10

Trek from Dragnag to Nirekha Base Camp (4950 m)

Gradually ascend through the glaciers and rocky terrain to reach Cho La Pass. From Cho La Pass you will be fascinated by the breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and many more. A tiny trail heads north from Cho La Pass towards Nirekha Base Camp.

Day:11

Trek from Nirekha Base Camp to Nirekha High Camp (5300 m)

From today the mountain terrain tests your strength and patience. You need to use ropes and crampons as you ascend from the Base Camp on the trail that is covered with snow and is very slippery. No need to mention you will be blessed with the stunning views of the mountains around. In High Camp our crew team set up camp for you.

Day:12

Summit to Nirekha Peak (6159 m) and Back to Nirekha Base Camp

Today is the most important day of the trip. You need to wake up early in the morning and head towards the summit as it is targeted to reach the peak before noon. Our crew team team will be there to guide and support you. Upon your arrival at the summit, you will be rewarded with the unthinkable views of the mountains Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and you name it. After spending some time at the top and taking some snaps head back to the Base Camp.

Reserve Day for the Unforeseen Circumstances

It is highly recommended to allocate one day as reserve for the unforeseen circumstances like bad weather or health problems.

Day:14

Trek from Nirekha Base Camp to Dzongla (4830 m) via Cho La Pass (5420 m)

With a feeling of accomplishment, you head towards Cho La Pass. The trek up to Cho La Pass is okay but ahead of it is difficult as it involves a walking on glaciel trail. You need to mind your steps during a descent on the very slippery trail. After this you will arrive in Dzongla.

Day:15

Trek from Dzongla to Gorakshep (5180m)

After breakfast, we descend slowly until we reach the eastern base camp of Lobuche and then ascend past a glacial lake, Chola Tsho. We reach a junction where Three Passes Trail connects to the main Everest Base Camp trail. We gradually get back to the main route to Everest Base Camp and continue towards the Thukla Pass, where numerous memorial stones for mountaineers who lost their lives on their way to Everest or other mountain giants can be found. After another hour, we reach the settlement of Lobuche (4930m). After Lobuche, we walk very slowly (as we are near 5,000m of elevation) with constant small ups and downs as we go up to Gorakshep. We mainly follow a path on the moraine hills of the Changri glacier until we reach Gorakshep.

Day:16

Summit to Kalapatthar (5640 m), Back to Gorokshep and Trek to Pheriche (4280m)

Another highlight of our journey awaits today. We depart early from our lodge to view the panoramic sunrise from the summit of Kalapatthar. The proximity to the Everest Pyramid (approximately 10 km as the crow flies) and the Nuptse Ridge, along with the breathtaking views of the ice world of the Changri and Khumbu glaciers with the Mount Everest Base Camp area in the distance, will leave you in awe. A strong wind often sweeps this foothill of the majestic mountain Pumori. After enjoying the view, we return to Gorakshep. Following a break with hot tea, we continue our descent on the familiar trail until we reach Pheriche.

Day:17

Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3870m)

Today’s walk will be a much easier as we descend to the lower altitudes. Following the same route back through the wide valley of Khumbu Khola, we pass through the beautiful Sherpa village Shomare. Via Pangboche (a scenic village surrounded by Everest to its north, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtaiga to the east, the Kongde range to the south), we continue to Tengboche. There is a Monastery in Tengboche that is very popular in the Khumbu Region.

Day:18

Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

The trail today takes you on familiar paths to Namche, the main Sherpa town of the Khumbu region. In Tengboche, you navigate a steep descent to the prayer wheels of Phungi Thanga (3250m), where you traverse a long suspension bridge, before embarking on the last major ascent of this trekking journey. This last, 500-meter descent will not pose too much of a challenge, and very soon, you find yourself on the precipice of a basin-shaped terrain, looking down onto the splendid buildings of the vibrant trekking hub of Namche Bazaar. As we are almost at the end of our Trip, today you can enjoy nightlife of Namche Bazar; there are plenty of Pubs and Bars around Namche Bazaar.

Day:19

Trek from Namche to Lukla (2840 m)

We bid farewell to the trading center of the Sherpas and hike along the "Highway," the only trail/ road connection from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, until we reach our lodge near the airstrip. In the evening, we can celebrate our farewell from the Khumbu Himal with our team.

Day:20

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,350)

We depart for the airport at dawn. Sometimes it may require a bit of patience before we take off, but then there is time to admire the professional landing approach of the small 16-seater Twin Otter planes. The approximately 40-minute return flight is again an adventure along the panoramic Himalayan Range. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for your leisure.

Day:21

Kathmandu City Tour: Patan & Swayambhunath (1350 m)

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to the Patan Darbar Square, one of the medieval period royal palaces in the Kathmandu Valley. As the tour in Patan Area is over, you can savor your lunch here. Patan is popular for Buddhism and is one of the best destinations for photography. Your next destination will be Swayambhunath, informally also known as the Monkey Temple. Patan and Swayambhunath are both listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites and are highly revered as culturally and religiously adorned monuments. Then, you will be dropped to your hotel.

Departure from Kathmandu
