The ultimate bucket list trip! Trek to Everest Base Camp to experience a memorable adventure that takes you to the base of the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest. You can marvel at the grand sights of the Himalayas and reach new heights on this expedition. This 14-nights 15 days trip is designed for those adventurers who are ready to perform relatively difficult trekking and feel the Mt. Everest but cannot afford to climb it owing to the lack of either money or physical fitness or time. Grab the opportunity to see the magnificent views of the peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam (The Jewel), Pumori, Thamserku, Kangtega and Island Peak right in front of your eyes. Besides, you will get a chance to board on one of the earthโ€™s most challenging flight between Kathmandu and Lukla. This trip is divided into two parts: Kathmandu City Tour and Everest Base Camp Trek. The trek to Everest Base Camp is completed in 11 days which minimizes the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) as two days are separated for taking rest and acclimatization. The highlights of this trek are the Mount Everest Base Camp itself and the famous viewpoint of Kalapatthar. The entire Mt. Everest area lies within the Sagarmatha National Park, a natural UNESCO world heritage site. Everest region is home to Sherpa people, renowned for superb mountaineering skill. These people have a strong faith in Himalayan Buddhism. In this historical trail, you will discover old Buddhist monasteries, the rich culture of the Khumbu Sherpas and various local flora and fauna. Furthermore, the thrilling hike up to the viewpoint of Kalapatthar (5550m), the highest point of the trek, will show you the stunning view of Pumori, Ama Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. If itโ€™s a climbing season, you can meet mountaineers at Everest Base Camp trying to scale the Mt. Everest. You will be astonished when you realize that you are walking below the shadows of eight-thousanders: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu.

Day:1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Take rest and try to get over the effects of jet lag. A brief session regarding our further program would be conducted. Explore the neighborhood and arrange your dinner on your own. Catch up on some much needed sleep and prepare yourself for the next day tour.

Day:2

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840 m) & Trek to Phakding (2610m)

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the domestic airport of Kathmandu early in the morning at around 5 am. At the airport you will catch a flight to Lukla (2840m) at 6:30 am. Upon your arrival in Lukla at around 7 am, have breakfast on your own cost. After this start your trek for Phakding at 8 am. From Lukla we descend on a wide trail northwest in the Dudh Koshi Valley. We can see the mesmerizing valley covered with pine and rhododendron forest. You might see yaks as you walk on the banks of the Dudh-Koshi River. The trekking is easy and we follow the river's course. Pass by the villages of Chheplung, Thado Koshi Gaon and Ghat before we reach Phakding. In Phakding, you will get first taste of Himalayan life. Rest and relax in Phakding. Lunch and dinner in Phakding. ! Note: Flight is subject to weather conditions. Sometimes, flight might be delayed or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

Day:3

Trek from Phakding to Namche (3440m)

Start the trek at 8 am after breakfast. The trail will lead us through the pine and rhododendron forest along the Dudh Koshi River across many suspension bridges, one of which is the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. In 1 hour you will reach Tok Tok and within next half an hour you will reach Bengkar. From Bengkar we can see the views of Thamserku on the front right. Continue the trek to Chumoa and then to Monjo for 1 hour. In Monjo we can see the Khumbila peak (5765m). This peak is believed to be holy by Buddhist people and is prohibited to climb. We will register and buy the Sagarmatha National Park entry permit at the check post located at this point and continue the trek to Jorsalle for half an hour. We will have our lunch in Jorsalle. After forty minutes of walking from Jorsalle we will get to the Hillary Bridge. From Hillary Bridge start uphill trek to Namche. This is quite difficult trek and will test your physical fitness. Then the trail will meet the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We still need to walk about 2 hours to reach Namche Bazaar, a gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading centre of this region. Arrive in Namche Bazar at around 3 pm. Check in hotel, enjoy the scenic Namche Bazar and splendid view of Kongde on the front, Kusum Khanguru and Thamserku at back. Dinner in Namche.

Day:4

Acclimatization in Namche (3440m)

Spend a day in Namche to acclimatize to the altitude and rest before the next ascent. Or, go for an optional hiking to Hotel Everest View (3950m) after breakfast. It is about 2.5 hours uphill treks. This point offers magnificient views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Thamserku, Kusum Khanguru, Khumbila peak, Kongde, Kangtega, Peak 41, Tobuche peak, Cholatse peak, etc. Back to hotel in Namche Bazar. Lunch and Dinner at hotel. Note: The local market fair is held on every Friday and Saturday. So, visit the fair to shop for goods at cheap prices to add to your souvenir list.

Day:5

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3860m)

We start the trek at 8:00 am after breakfast. We ascend out of the village and follow a path above the Dudh Kosi River enjoying spectacular mountain views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. We go to Kyangjuma and continue the trek to Sanasa for one and half hours. We can find various small shops set up by Tibetans and then descend through forest of blue pine to cross the Dudh Kosi again at Phunki (3250m). Then we descend the downhill trail through forest of blue pine and cross the Dudh Koshi river again at Phunki Tenga after one hour from Sanasa. We will have a lunch break at Phunki Tenga. After lunch. We make another ascent on a switch-back trail to Tengboche Monastery for 3 hours. You will arrive at Tengboche Monastery (3860m) by around 2:30 pm. Tengboche monastery offers the amazing views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Taboche to the north and Thamserku, Kantega and Kongde to the south. Dinner in Tengboche.

Day:6

Trek from Tengboche Monastery to Dingboche (44100m)

After breakfast we start downhill trek at 8:00 am to Deboche for 30 minutes. We continue to trek following the descending trail through rhododendron forest along the Imja Khola and pass by the bridge on the Imja Khola and then a long Mani stone wall to enter the village of Pangboche. This will take around 1 hour from Deboche. After Pangboche continue the trek to Shomare through summer pastures for 1 hour. You will have your lunch here. Start the trek to Dingboche again at 11:30 am. After 2 and half hours of walking we will arrive at Dingboche at around 2:00 pm. Itโ€™s a time to check in a hotel. Dinner at Hotel.

Day:7

Acclimatization at Dingboche (4410m)

Today, you can take rest and acclimatize to the altitude in Dingboche. You can either experience the close up view of Ama Dablam soaring overhead from the terrace of the teahouse. Or, you have another choice to spend the day with a hike to Nagarjuna (5000m). You have to walk for around 4 hours to reach Nagarajuna. This point offers the majestic views of Amadablam, Makalu, Barunche, Chopolo II and Merapeak. It will take around 2 hours to be back from Nagarjuna.

Day:8

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m)

Today, we will reach above the tree line. We will start the trek at 8:00 am after the breakfast by ascending towards Dughla through Pheriche village for 2 hours. We will take a tea break at Dughla for one hour. Again, continue the uphill trek, which has several memorials to Sherpas killed on expeditions to Everest. Then the trail will lead you through the moraine of Khumbu Glacier with views of Kala Patthar and Mt. Pumori. After 3 hours of walking from Dughla, we will arrive at Lobuche nestled high in the Himalaya, a major trekking stop along the trail to Everest Base Camp at around 2 pm. Check in hotel. Lunch and dinner at hotel.

Day:9

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5170m) to Everest Base Camp (5364 m) & Return to Gorakshep

Today is the big day and is a very long and hard day. Start the trek after breakfast at 8:00 am to Gorakshep. Follow the trail along the western side of the Khumbu Valley and the views of Mount Pumori, Everestโ€™s daughter, will accompany you. It is a 3 hoursโ€™ uphill trek. We will reach Gorakshep at around 11 a.m. Check in a hotel and take a lunch break. After 1 hourโ€™s lunch break, we walk across the sandy flat land at Gorakshep and ascend the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier for 3 hours to reach the Everest Base Camp. From the Base camp we can get the splendid close up views of Nuptse, Everest South Shoulder, Chamgtse, Lingtren, Khumbutse and Mt. Pumori on left hand sight. After a short photo stop we retrace our steps to Gorakshep for overnight. Due to its windy weather, we wonโ€™t spend more than 30 minutes for photo shooting. We then head back to Gorakshep which will take around 2 hours. Finally, we will arrive at the hotel around 5:30 p.m and take some much deserved rest. Dinner at Hotel.

Day:10

Gorakshep - Kala Patthar (5643m) โ€“ Gorakshep - Pheriche (4280 m)

Today is considered to be the climax of our trip. We will wake up in the wee hours and start the uphill trek at 4:00 a.m. to Kala Patthar for 2 hours. The trail is made up of a series of steep switchbacks that eventually leads to the summit. We will spend 30 minutes at the viewpoint of Kala Patthar to observe the spectacular view of sunrise and the golden mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Pumori and Amadablam. Head back to Gorekshep for 1 hour. After having breakfast at the hotel, we will descend to Pheriche at 8:30 a.m. We will reach Lobuche after 2 hours and continue towards Dughla for 2 hours. Arrive in Dughla at 12:30 p.m. and have a lunch break for half an hour. After lunch we will continue the trek to Pheriche for 2 hours. Finally, we will reach Pheriche at 3:00 p.m. Check in a hotel and overnight in Pheriche. Dinner at hotel. Note 1: We need to prepare ourselves for an early morning, dark, cold temperature and potential chilly winds departure. Note 2: Please note that the walk to Everest Base Camp and the climb of Kala Pattar are both tough. Sometimes we may change the order in which we tackle the walks depending on the group's ability and weather conditions.

Day:11

Trek from Pheriche to Namche (3440 m)

Today, we trek down through the hillside covered with rhododendron and juniper trees. After breakfast, we will start our descent into the Khumbu Valley at 08:00 a.m. to Shomare which will last for 1 hour. From Shomare we continue the trek to Pangboche for 45 minutes and to Deboche for the next 45 minutes and to Tengboche for another 30 minutes. We will reach Tengboche at 11:00 a. m. After 30 minutesโ€™ walking we will stop at Phunki Tenga where we take one hourโ€™s lunch break. After lunch, we will follow the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests. The path reaches Sansa which is a major trail junction in the region. We stop at Kyangjuma for a brief tea break. Beyond Kyangjuma, the trail is made up of steep wooded slope, winding through several bends. We can see various wild lives such as snow leopards, mountain goats, colorful pheasants and many more while passing through the forest. As we approach Namche, we could find an army camp. This is the point from where we can look and take pictures back to Lhotse, tip of the Everest and Tengboche for one last time. Eventually, we will reach our todayโ€™s destination, Namche, around 3:30 p.m. Itโ€™s time to check in a local lodge. Dinner and overnight in Namche.

Day:12

Trek from Namche to Lukla (2840m)

After breakfast, we will start the downhill trek at 08.00 a.m. to Hillary Bridge and walk for 1 and half hours. We pass by the villages of Jorsalle, Monjo, Bengkar and Toktok each of them are separated by a distance of 30 minutesโ€™ walk from each other consecutively. We will walk for another 45 minutes to reach Phakding. Depending on our hunger condittion we will have lunch at either of these stops. We will cross many suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi and its tributaries. By today we will start to feel warm in the comparatively low altitude land. We find ourselves seeing completely different views, although we are heading back the same route. The snow covered peaks which seemed closer yesterday are in the distance. The trail passes through the rhododendron and pine forests at some points and through Sherpa villages. After 1 hour of walk from Phakding we will reach Ghat around 2:00 p.m. and continue the trek to Chheplung for 30 minutes and to Lukla for 1 and half hours. We will arrive in Lukla at 4:00 p.m. Check in hotel. Dinner at Hotel.

Day:13

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1350m)

Wake up early in the morning with a feeling that you have conquered the Everest Base Camp. We will grab a predawn breakfast and head towards the Lukla airport to take an early flight back to Kathmandu. You will be picked up from the airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu or your next destination. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in the hotel. If you want you can explore Kathmandu on your own or go for a shopping spree. Join your fellow expedition members for a farewell dinner and lots of toasting in the evening. Overnight at the hotel. Trek ends! Congratulation! You completed your Everest Base Camp trek.

Day:14

Kathmandu City Tour (1350 m)

We will spend the day exploring the Kathmandu Valley. First, we will visit Swayambhunath also called the โ€œMonkey Templeโ€. Take in the views of the city from atop one of the most important Buddhist stupas in Nepal. You will be then taken to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most prominent Hindu religious site in the world. After this a short lunch break will be taken. Lunch is on your own. Finally you will be taken to Patan Durbar Square. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Also, you can do the last hour shopping to buy some gears needed during your trekking.

Departure from Kathmandu (1350 m)

Time to say goodbye! Have breakfast in the hotel. Spend free time until departure. Our representative will transfer you by private vehicle to the airport for your final departure.
